Flapless aproach
Much shallower
Start descent earlier at EGLM due to confined space for the circuit …. Where space is not confined wait longer before turning base for a wider circuit
aim to be on final at 400ft rather than 500
base target speed is 75kts
Vat is 70 kts
numbers just above the cowling
much lower final aproach
will float a long way
keep control column back as will land on main gear and will stay on main gear only for a while
put in 2 stages flaps for touch and go
Glide Approach
Pull power as wing tip passes the numbers
Positive and firm back pressure to achieve 73kts (best glide) … this should actually give you a height gain
Turn at the same time as reaching best glide
Aim for a third of the way down the runway
judge course and flaps to make the airfield … if too high you can always take a wider line / add more flaps
when practicing radio call should be GIM, downwind / final for 2 5 glide approach, touch and go / to land
S turns or take a wider approach if carring too much speed

Short Field
Aim to be lower and 5 kts slower so 60kst Vat
Greater care with airspeed as closer to stall
like slow flight need power to as behind the drag curve
shallower glide slope and use power to touch down and drop right onto the numbers
will be a firmer landing
High Headwind
2 stages of flaps and 5 knots over normal airspeed to maintain authority … power and point aircraft at the runway more than normal, speed will bleed off very quickly
