As part of the pre QCX checks I have to do a flight with the Chief Flying Instructor …. a catalogue of errors, some very minor in my humble opinion but everything seemed to be flagged as though I was about to crash the aircraft! Ended up with me not being able to find my checkpoint and being told to fly back to the airfield!
It certainly knocked my confidence a bit and if he was my instructor I would have sacked him!
Unfortunately I have to fly with the same instructor again for another QXC checkout and he’ll be my final skills test examiner 🙁

I’m quite local to WLAC and in-fact did several flights there 10-15 years ago when I was a teen in Air scouts and with a family friend at the field.
I’ve always been interested in aviation and finally am at the point where I can consider getting my PPL.
How has your overall experience of White Waltham been ?
Instructors, Aircraft, reliability, fun (I mean that’s why we all fly isn’t it).
I’d be very appreciative of any feedback you may be able to give that may help me with making my decision as I’m essentially in the same situation as you even location wise it seems as I live 5-10 mins from Blackbushe and work 5 mins from White Waltham.
